OBJECTIVE: Students should be able to obtain, process and use information from web and print sources and present the information in spoken and written form.
LEARNING OUTCOMES: By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:
(a) Fill up the blanks with correct words from the listening activity.
(b) Produce a healthy menu based on the World Wide Web on Healthy Food Recipes.
(c) Writing short messages suggesting a healthy menu to their friends.
EDUCATIONAL EMPHASIS: Thinking Skills, Multiple Intelligences and ICT Skills.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS: Computers, Internet connection and Web Browser.
PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: Students have learned about modal verbs in previous lesson.

PREPARATION: 1) Teacher will first locate the Healthy Food Recipe on the World Wide Web.
2) Teacher browses through the website in order to make sure that the website is suitable for the students.
3) Then, teacher will prepare worksheet for the students based on the website.
PROCEDURES:
INDUCTION (10 minutes):
- Teacher shows some pictures of fast food to the students on the screen that is being projected by the projector.
- Teacher asks the students whether they love to eat fast food or not.
- Teacher tells the students that eating fast food and junk food is not good for health.
- Teacher also mentions to the students that young people should eat healthy food.
- Teacher then tells the students that they are going to learn about healthy food.
DEVELOPMENT (50 minutes):
Activity 1: ‘MY PLATE (25minutes)
- Teacher asks the students to form a group of three students per computer.
- Teacher asks the students to sit within their groups at their computers.
- Teacher explains to the students that they are going to have a listening activity on ‘My Plate’.
- Teacher then explains about the listening activity in which the students have to listen carefully to the text and fill up the blanks with types of healthy food.
- Then, teacher distributes worksheet for the listening activity ‘My Plate’.
- Teacher plays the audio taken from the website ‘Food Guide Pyramid Becomes a Plate’.
- After the students have finished filling up the blanks, then teacher asks the students to browse to the website ‘Food Guide Pyramid Becomes a Plate’ and asks them to play the audio and check their answers.
- Teacher then discusses together with the students on the activity.
Activity 2: ‘MY HEALTHY RECEPI (15 minutes)
- Teacher shows some example of healthy menu which are breakfast, lunch and dinner to the students.
- Teacher explains to the students about the menu.
- Teacher asks the students to work together in their groups and produce a healthy menu of their own based on the website ‘Healthy Food Recipes.’
- Teacher asks the students to browse through the website and look for their own menu based on the ‘Healthy Food Recipes on the website.
- Teacher distributes worksheet 2 in order for the students to write down their healthy recipes.
- Then, teacher chooses the group randomly to present their healthy recipe to the whole class.
- Teacher discusses the recipes with the students and teacher also encourages the students to eat healthy food.
Activity 3: ‘MY MESSAGE (10 minutes)
- Teacher tells the students that using their own healthy recipes; they are going to promote their recipe to their friends by writing a short message.
- Teacher tells the students that in their writings, they should use the modal verbs such as should, must, should not, must not in order to promote their healthy recipes to their friends.
- Teacher also mentions to the students that they have to give reasons why their friends should eat healthy food instead of eating fast food and junk food.
- After explaining to the students, teacher asks the students to write their messages individually on worksheet 3.
- If time allows, teacher will ask the students randomly to read aloud their short messages in the class.
CONCLUSION: (5 minutes)
- Teacher summarizes the lesson about eating healthy food and mentions about the importance of eating healthy food.
- Teacher also recapitulates the lesson on modal verbs to the students.
- Teacher then highlights the moral values of cooperation and friendship to the students.
FOLLOW-UP ACTIVITY: Teacher asks the students to draw and make a poster based on their healthy menu in their exercise books.
